fyi, I just changed my comment settings so that comments have to get approved. This was in response to getting like 50 spam comments in about a five minute period. As I understand it, my site attracts a lot of spam because I allow commenters' links to be clickable. I hesitate to change that setting, but it looks like I may have to.

Other alternative--I could require people to create accounts to make comments, but I'm not so into that because I myself have failed to comment on even good friends' blogs because I don't want to be bothered to register.

btw, this round of spam came two days after I updated a bunch of modules on my site. Think there's a connection?

PS I call myself a spam survivor, rather than a spam victim, because I sure wish the Library of Congress would adopt similar terminology.
