I didn't go to the ALA Annual Conference this year, a decision I made based on its location in Anaheim. I wasn't going to bother making a whole blog post complaining about it, but then I saw the Annoyed Librarian's post, and thought at the very least I'd do a "What she said."
In the past I've given my ALA election picks, but I just don't feel as strongly as I used to. In fact, my membership is due for renewal, and I'm on the fence about re-upping.
Here's my report back from ALA Midwinter 2008. I'll fill you in on my experiences with the Chinatown bus, radical librarian/radical techie love, the zine librarians meet-up, a white privilege workshop, Radical Reference, Movers & Shakers, and vegan eats.
