Undiscovered Gyrl

author:
Burnett, Allison

I probably can't talk about this book without spoilering it, so proceed with caution, especially Danna, to whom I am going to mail it as soon as it's safe to go back to the post office. (i.e. after Santamas)

The first back of the book blurb likens the title character to a 21st century Lolita, but I think she's more similar to a blogging Go Ask Alice.

The Pumped Librarian

Welcome to the biblioblogosphere Pumped Librarian Nicole Pagowsky!

I know Nicole from zines and from Radical Reference, where she jumped in right away and started answering questions while in library school. She's got a temp job right now, folks, so you've still got a chance to hire before she gets snapped up by someone else!

Someone posted the link to the Stuff White People Like blog to the NYC Anarchists discussion list. This blog is apt, cruel, and hilarious.

not gay gay republicans

I just noticed that my friend Laura Quilter is blogging, with the creative and appropriate name, "derivative work." Laura is a librarian turned fair use lawyer, and also an expert is feminist science fiction, btw. A post I thought y'all might enjoy is called "The Republican Shuffle." She's gathered information about Republican sex deniers and their sex scandals.

ZMedia Librarian blog

As I'm painfully slowly trying to recover from the deadly whirlwind of orientation, instruction, and consultations that decimated me at work for late August, September, and most of October, I'm trying to catch up with writing about the twenty or so tabs I keep open in Firefox hoping I'll some day getting around to writing about them. Today's entry is: the ZMedia Librarian blog, which is about alternative media in libraries, particularly zines.
